I had the privilege to join a group of photographers under the patronage of Arden Khoo from ePixels to photograph the Penang World Music Festival 2008. This is the second year after its inaugural start in 2007. Featuring a wide selection of music from folk songs and country music, all the way to modern rock. It was culturally inspiring to hear music from bands all around the world including Reunion Island, Iran, Tibet, Denmark and Crotia! The handsome guy above is from the group Taeda all the way from Ireland.
Here are some of my favourites from the 3 night event.
More images can be viewed here. Thanks to Arden and Bryan for setting up the gallery.

Louis Pang's From Ordinary to Extra-Ordinary Workshop
Woohoo!!! I had a fantastic time last weekend learning and shooting with a group of passionate photographers, led by the one and only Louis Pang! I'm talking about Louis' "From Ordinary to Extra-Ordinary" workshop. A group of 13 photographers including myself were totally immerse in 2.5 days of intense learning from the great master. Not only did we learn what are the basic ingredients in making a great portrait, we also got to experience the energy that Louis brings into every shoot that he does. It was really refreshing to see a person with so much passion for the work he does and how it brings out your best work. I'm really inspired by such professionalism and spirit and it makes me stand in awe of the work and aspire to achieve that level of perfection.
The beautiful lady above is Samantha. She was one of the models that join us for the days shooting. We call her the lady with multiple faces. She was just fantastic in giving us all the different expressions that we asked for during the shoot. You're Beautiful Samantha!
One of the key lessons that I picked up in the workshop is to get everything right In Camera. That means getting the image as perfect as it could be when you shoot it with the camera without any touch-ups needed. This is a great mindset as it really trains you to get great images everytime and then with some post-processing touch-ups makes the image just fantastic.
Here are my favourites from the workshop straight from the camera! I'll be posting some touch up photos soon.
Reynaldo the cool cat!
Vicky and Max. What a lovely couple they are!
Samantha being Hot!!
The beautiful Michele from Louis Pang Studio.
Congratulations to Sim and Ice, who just got registered that day! Imagine 13 photographers shooting portraits of them.
