Woohoo!!! I had a fantastic time last weekend learning and shooting with a group of passionate photographers, led by the one and only Louis Pang! I'm talking about Louis' "From Ordinary to Extra-Ordinary" workshop. A group of 13 photographers including myself were totally immerse in 2.5 days of intense learning from the great master. Not only did we learn what are the basic ingredients in making a great portrait, we also got to experience the energy that Louis brings into every shoot that he does. It was really refreshing to see a person with so much passion for the work he does and how it brings out your best work. I'm really inspired by such professionalism and spirit and it makes me stand in awe of the work and aspire to achieve that level of perfection.
The beautiful lady above is Samantha. She was one of the models that join us for the days shooting. We call her the lady with multiple faces. She was just fantastic in giving us all the different expressions that we asked for during the shoot. You're Beautiful Samantha!
One of the key lessons that I picked up in the workshop is to get everything right In Camera. That means getting the image as perfect as it could be when you shoot it with the camera without any touch-ups needed. This is a great mindset as it really trains you to get great images everytime and then with some post-processing touch-ups makes the image just fantastic.
Here are my favourites from the workshop straight from the camera! I'll be posting some touch up photos soon.
Reynaldo the cool cat!
Vicky and Max. What a lovely couple they are!
Samantha being Hot!!
The beautiful Michele from Louis Pang Studio.
Congratulations to Sim and Ice, who just got registered that day! Imagine 13 photographers shooting portraits of them.

HooiChai & Danny
I've just closed one chapter of my life and am starting a new chapter with my wife HooiChai! We've just finished the wedding ceremony and dinners in both KL and Penang over the last two weekends, and boy it more tiring than being the photographer for the whole day! It is a truly memorable event that is forever in grained in my mind and I look forward to the day when I share the images taken during that day with my children and let them know the joy I felt when I took their mother into my arms :)
Weddings are never possible with out the help from a whole army of warm and tireless relatives and friends. First and foremost I need to thanks both our parents for giving us each other and also for spending so much time preparing for the wedding. HooiChai's 2nd sister, HooiYah, for spending countless hours preparing the door gifts during the wedding dinner (Yah, we love them!). HooiChai's other sisters, HooiBing and HooiChuan, were great generals during the wedding dinners where they were doing such a great job directing everyone to the tables. My younger brother Jerry also did good helping out with the direction and coordination of the slideshows. We had 2 great dance performances by a group of friends that had been practicing since Xmas last year! Thanks Celeste, Elaine, Fiona, SuaLin and BeeMei! You guys rock!! Finally, I need to thank my elder bro Gary and also my cousin Lenny who did a great job under pressure, photographing the entire event (Also thanks to Ngan Teng for being the 'portable lightstand' for my bro!). I'm really looking forward to wading through the 2k+ photos that they took for me. It's going to take a while!
Here are some of my favourites of the engagement photos that we took at Fraser's Hill. Stay tune for the wedding shots! Special thanks to Celeste and Clement for helping us out during the engagement shoot. Celeste & Clement, we couldn't do it without you guys!

Wen Lih & Choo Ta - 2nd December 2007
ChooTa is a friend that I've known since lower secondary school. He's one of those guys that you just love to have around as he's always jovial, smiling and ready with a cheeky joke. I'm glad that he's able to find WenLih who is so much like him! Funny and always with that same cheeky humour :)
ChooTa & WenLih,
I wish you both all the best and looking forward to photography your first born!
